Autumn Tonic Oxymel
A Celebration of Fall
Celebrate Fall health and balance with this versatile Fall Tonic Oxymel! An Oxymel is a blend of vinegar and honey, popular during renaissance times as a healing remedy, and is making a comeback recently. (Fire Cider is another example of an Oxymel. See our Fire Cider for more information).
This one is infused with a delicious taste of Fall herbs and foods to tone up the immune system and the liver, to help our bodies and spirits adjust to the new season. It contains nettle leaf, rose hips, elderberries, oregano, cloves, garlic, cranberries, and beets. It is both savory and sweet and is delicious on salads or over vegetables. Try it as a condiment at your Fall Harvest/Sukkot/Thanksgiving meal!
As a general tonic, I like to take a tablespoon of this every morning to nourish and tone my immune system and liver. This is also an excellent way to get vitamin C and iron from whole foods and herbs.
INGREDIENTS: nettle leaf, rose hips, elderberries, oregano, cloves, garlic, cranberries, beets, apple cider vinegar, honey
