Meet Yemaya

Welcome to my apothecary!  I’m Yemaya, a clinical herbalist based in the majestic redwoods of Northern California.  I work 1:1 with folks like you who want to safely & effectively use herbs & other natural therapies to support health.  I specialize in helping women over 40 who are chronically stressed, overwhelmed, &/or have age-related chronic illness find their way back into balance.

I started learning about the remarkable healing quality of plants and making herbal products for my family over 25 years ago, while living in the mountains of upstate NY. From that point on, I have dedicated my life to learning as much as possible about using herbs to support health and wellness. I am passionate about empowering people to learn all they can about herbs and the many ways they can help us to thrive.  This love & passion for matching people with plants is what started Yemaya’s Apothecary in 2018.

I have had the opportunities to learn from some amazing herbalists, such as Susun Weed, Jeanine Parvati-Baker, Rosemary Gladstar, Jane Bothwell, & Sajah Popham. I am a graduate of multiple herbal programs including Science & Art of Herbalism, Dandelion Herbal Center, Herbal Academy, & The School of Evolutionary Herbalism.  Aside from this, I have spent hundreds of hours researching and learning from the plants themselves, as they truly are the very best teachers in this field.

My 1:1 clinical approach is about collaboration & empowerment.  Together, we will explore your health challenges & look for possible root causes.  Then we will create a plan to suit your unique story, situation, & needs.  Instead of thinking of me as your healer, see me as your guide, a liaison between you & your herbal allies.  My intention is to educate & inspire you to make the changes needed to reach your wellness goals.

My products are all made with love, careful attention, and organic or ethically wildcrafted ingredients. Many of the herbs I use come from my garden in northern CA. Some I harvest locally or buy from farmers I know. The rest are sourced from high quality reputable suppliers who love plants as much as I do. Everything is made in small batches, and product availability changes with the seasons.
