The story goes: In Medieval times during the plague, 4 thieves got rich by robbing the victims. When they got caught they were asked how they managed to avoid contracting the plague, they told of the herbs they used. The herbs vary depending on which version of the story you hear, but the most common are Rosemary, Garden Sage, Lavender, Peppermint, and Garlic. The story of the 4 Thieves may or may not be true, but what we do know is that these herbs have been used throughout the ages to ward away cold, flu, and other viruses.
